more about his own history. |

[Moritz Benedikt] was born here in 1923 and died
in 1955. Worked as a tailor for his father in a shop on the Kochgasse
in the Eighth District, Benedikt
un Soehne, Schneiderei. (Sleeping in
Flame) |

The street was narrow and cars were parked bumper
to bumper all the way down it. We passed a Turkish bakery and
several other small stores before reaching the address. At first
we didn't realize we were there because "Benedikt und Soehne"
had disappeared. In its place was a modern stationery store.
